Welcome to Springvale South Medical Centre, a fully accredited, general practice clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to individuals and families in Springvale and the surrounding community. Dr. Josephine Ong

Dr. Ong has been in general practice for over 40 years and is the founder and principal doctor at SSMC. She is a knowledgeable general practitioner with a focus on building long-term relationships with her patients. Her special interests include antenatal (shared care), women’s health, chronic disease management and geriatric medicine. Dr Ong speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.

Dr. Melinda Lun

Dr. Melinda is a caring and empathetic general practitioner with a special interest in women's health, mental health, dermatology and chronic disease management. Melinda also has a Certificate in Practical Dermoscopy from the Australasian College of Dermatologists and the Professional Certificate of Aesthetic Medicine and performs anti-wrinkle injections and minor surgical procedures.

Outside of work she keeps herself busy looking after her two young children and enjoys rock climbing, yoga/ pilates, skiing, hiking and stand-up paddle-boarding. Melinda is fluent in both English and Cantonese.

Dr. Kim Nguyen

Dr. Kim is a compassionate general practitioner who is committed to providing patient-centered care.

He has clinical experience in all aspects of general practice with a special interest in child and adolescent health. He is able to provide procedural services including Implanon insertion/removal and iron infusions.

Outside of work he enjoys rock climbing and playing tennis. Kim is fluent in both English and Vietnamese.

Dr. Dilan Ranasinghe

Dr. Dilan is a knowledgable and experienced general practitioner who focuses on providing holistic care to his patients. He has an interest in all areas of general practice, including women's health, chronic disease management, men's health, minor surgical procedures and skin checks. He has a special interest in weight loss management and children's health, Dr. Dilan has also completed a Diploma in Children's Health.

Outside of work, Dr Ranasinghe enjoys gardening and swimming. Dilan is fluent in both English and Singhalese,

Dr. Pranjal Deka

With over 20 years of experience as a doctor in Australia and overseas, Dr Pranjal Deka is a passionate and highly experienced GP dedicated to providing holistic care to his patients.

Dr Deka has a special interest in skin cancer medicine, offering comprehensive services from diagnosis to complex excisions and other minor surgical procedures. He also has extensive expertise in managing chronic and complex medical conditions, including diabetes, heart failure and autoimmune disorders. Dr Deka is also skilled in Implanon insertion and removal, and has valuable experience working with elderly patients with complex medical needs and dementia.

Committed to his community, Dr Deka believes in a collaborative approach to health. In his spare time, he enjoys playing cricket and badminton, travelling, and spending time with his family. He is fluent in both English and Hindi.

Our Fees

Patients pay the following

Billing Details (Monday to Friday $28 out of pocket)

Standard Consultation -15 mins (Medicare item 23): $70.00 Rebate: $42.85
Long Consultation -30 mins (Medicare Item 36): $110,00 Rebate: $82.90
Extra Long Consultation -45 mins (Medicare item 44): $150.00 Rebate: $122.15
Surgical Procedures: $30.00 – $50.00 out of pocket fee (Doctors will advise patients of such costs prior to procedures)

We bulk bill children under 16 yrs , DVA patients, concession and eligible aged pensioners (patients who have a valid Medicare card)

Patients who have a valid Medicare card can claim their Medicare rebate back in to their account through our Tyro EFTPOS machine
