Dr Ong has been in general practice for over 40 years and is the founder and principal doctor at SSMC.  Dr Ong is arguably one of the most popular doctrs in Springvale. She enjoys the variety of general practice and getting to know her patients. Her special interests include antenatal (shared care), women’s health, chronic disease management and geriatric medicine. Dr Ong speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.



Melinda is an experienced GP and Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners.  She joined our clinic in April 2019 with more than 10 years clinical experience including Australian tertiary hospitals, emergency departments and general practice. Melinda has an interest in women's health, paediatrics, mental health, dermatology, skin cancer and sports medicine. Outside of work she keeps herself busy looking after her two young children and enjoys rock climbing, camping, skiing and mountain biking. Melinda is fluent in both English and Cantonese.

Calan is an acupuncturist and general practitioner with a passion for using Chinese medicine to help people with their health issues.  He graduated from medicine at Monash University in 1997.  With over 20 years of Western medical experience and having recently graduated with a Chinese medicine degree from the Southern School of Natural Therapies in Melbourne, he can provide patients with treatment options from both eastern and western medicine.  His focus at Springvale South Medical Centre, however, will be to use acupuncture and not herbal medicine. He enjoys treating a variety of conditions which includes acute and chronic pain syndromes like headaches, back, neck, and body pain as well as digestive complaints.  He will be working every Thursday at SSMC and use dietary and lifestyle advice from his broad experience and training in Chinese medicine and Western medicine to achieve health outcomes according to what is appropriate for each patient.




Registered Nurse

Cherry Ye is an experienced practice nurse committed to provide excellent nursing care. Utilising her skills, she helps patients with general health check-ups, vaccinations and wound care. She has experience in Health Assessments for 70+ and 45-49 and Care Plan for patients with chronic health conditions. Her passions enable her to reach her goal of educating patients in prevention and management to promote patient-centred and well-informed healthcare.  Cherry speaks both English and Mandarin.

Wendy has joined Springvale south Medical Centre recently and has 4 years’ experience of working in international hospitals & 1 years in GP Practices. Wendy very passionately provides nursing care for her patients. She specialises in Chronic Disease Management, Care Plans & Health Assessment, and Administration of Immunisations & Vaccinations.
Wendy possess good interpersonal skills and excellent with Elderly & paediatric patients. Wendy is multilingual and fluent in English & Mandarin.
